What to Prepare

The Visa on Arrival (VOA) is issued at selected Thai ports of entry (airports and land borders) for a 60-day tourist stay. It is not extendable. VOA does not count toward your visa-exempt quota. This checklist covers documents typically required at Thai immigration desks.

Original passport (valid 6+ months)

Must have sufficient blank pages for visa stamp

TM.8 form (Visa on Arrival application)

Available at Thai port of entry. Usually provided at immigration desk

Passport-sized photo (4x6 cm)

1 photo. Bring 2 as backup. Available for purchase at airport if needed

Return or onward flight ticket

Proof of departure from Thailand within visa period. Have booking confirmation ready

Proof of financial capacity

Bank statements, cash, or credit card. Typical threshold: 10,000 THB per person

Accommodation booking

Hotel confirmation for first few nights (can be in Thailand or nearby country)

TDAC filed (if flying)

Thailand Digital Arrival Card. File 3 days to 3 weeks before arrival if flying in

VOA fee in cash (2,000 THB)

Must pay at Thai immigration desk. Have exact change ready

Plan for TM30 address registration

Your accommodation must file TM30 within 24 hours of your arrival
