Re-entry Permit Checklist

What to Prepare

A Re-entry Permit preserves your active visa while you leave Thailand. Without one, your visa is automatically cancelled when you exit the country. Re-entry Permits are single-entry (renewed each time you leave) or multiple-entry (valid for one year). This checklist covers the documents needed to obtain one.

Original passport

With active Thai visa and entry stamp

TM.8 form (Re-entry Permit application)

Available at Thai immigration office or online

Passport-sized photo (4x6 cm)

1 photo

Proof of address in Thailand

Rental contract, lease agreement, or accommodation letter

Employment letter or reason for stay (if required)

May be requested depending on visa type and immigration office

Re-entry Permit fee in cash

Single-entry: 1,000 THB. Multiple-entry: 3,800 THB

Know your departure date

Apply before you leave. Permits are issued same-day at most immigration offices
