Visa Exempt Entry Checklist

What to Prepare

Visa exempt entry allows eligible nationals to enter Thailand for up to 60 days without a visa. However, you can only enter visa-exempt twice per calendar year. The first entry is not extendable; the second entry can be extended by 30 days at immigration. This checklist covers the key requirements for visa-exempt arrival.

Valid passport (6+ months validity)

Must be valid throughout your intended stay

TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card) filed

File 3 days to 3 weeks before arrival (recommended but not always mandatory)

Return or onward ticket

Immigration may ask for proof of departure. Have flight booking ready

Proof of financial capacity

Bank statement, cash, traveller's cheques, or credit card. Typical threshold: 10,000 THB per person

Accommodation booking or address

Hotel confirmation or address of where you'll be staying

Travel insurance (recommended)

Not required but highly recommended for medical coverage

Track your visa-exempt entries

Remember: 2 entries per calendar year maximum. First entry not extendable; second entry extendable +30 days

Plan for TM30 address registration

Your accommodation must file TM30 within 24 hours of your arrival
